Elephant Brand Skateboards Demo And Launch Party Photos

On May 5th Elephant Brand Skateboards celebrated the launch of the brand and my 25th year as a professional skateboarder on Catalina Island with a demo / ramp jam on the Wrigley Plaza Stage in Avalon and a party at the Chi Chi Club with special musical guest Ben Harper. Big thanks and MUCH LOVE to everyone who came out and supported the event especially Airwalk, Iron Fist, The Skateboard Mag and Freshpark. Here are some pics from the weekend:

Sold-Out

Well, that was fast.

The first two pallets of Elephant Brand Skateboards. They were sold-out before they were even unwrapped.

Before I could even officially announce that boards were available we had completely sold-out of the entire first ever production order of Elephant Brand Skateboards.

The line-up.

The very first package ever of Elephant Brand Skateboards was hand delivered by yours truly to Tim at Double Decker in Fayetteville, NC.

I am beyond stoked at the reception this company and the boards we are producing has garnered — It has gone well beyond my expectations. And I have to say, the love and attention we have already been paid by skaters around the world has only made me that much more appreciate of this opportunity — Yes, we are still in the infant stages of this brand but I feel a great responsibility to this brand and the skaters that have lined up to support us. This brand and it’s mission is my sole focus and something that I take very seriously. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you — Truly!

With that all being said, there have been plenty of hiccups here in the early days of the Elephant Brand Skateboards launch for which I’d like to apologize:

First: In the first few days of our boards being available our website and our online store had many kinks that needed to be worked out — If you were not able to place an order and dealt with much online frustration — I’m truly sorry. The kinks have now all been worked out at this point (I think) and all online orders should be processed more efficiently moving forward.

Second: We have been unable to process any international orders through our online store. This is something we will try to rectify moving forward. In the meantime for international orders you can always call Resource Distribution directly (949)-515-6209 and ask for Davey or Adan and we will do our best to help you and to fulfill your order.

Third: This being our first production run, somethings just haven’t gone smoothly or turned out correct or to my standard. The paint on some of the boards (Rogue and Street Axe) is off the mark and inconsistent with my vision for how these boards should look. The graphic of The Rogue boards are also inconstant with our early samples of these boards. Also, the Noside (9 X 31) boards just didn’t get produced for some reason and shipment of these boards has been delayed. This is all very frustrating but I have met with and or discussed all of these issues with my manufacturers and suppliers and we are working to get things dialed in for the next production run.

In the meantime, if you are the owner of one of the first Rogue or Street Axe boards… You have yourself a one-of-a-kind item. I definitely see these boards being a part of the Elephant Brand Skateboards line for sometime to come and they will definitely be more consistent and inline with my original vision for them in future production runs.

So, if you’ve read this far, then I would like to let you know that even though we are technically “Sold-Out” of this initial production run we have pulled and put aside some limited stock of most of the boards and orders can be fulfilled RIGHT NOW or for as long as these very limited supplies last. More importantly, get out to your local shop and buy our boards from them — And if your local shop hasn’t placed an order yet please encourage them to do so for the next run.

Also, so you know… The next production run of boards is due to arrive in our warehouse on June 15th — So if you missed out on the first round of boards — Hang tight! More are on the way.
