On May 5th Elephant Brand Skateboards celebrated the launch of the brand and my 25th year as a professional skateboarder on Catalina Island with a demo / ramp jam on the Wrigley Plaza Stage in Avalon and a party at the Chi Chi Club with special musical guest Ben Harper. Big thanks and MUCH LOVE to everyone who came out and supported the event especially Airwalk, Iron Fist, The Skateboard Mag and Freshpark. Here are some pics from the weekend:
Downhill Skateboarding Racing Legend and Freshpark owner Roger Hickey and I traveled out to Catalina together. Here we are getting in a rental golf cart before heading out to check out the island.
Dropping in on the demo / ramp jam... Let the festivities begin.
Rocking the Wrigley Plaza Stage.

Black Label ripper Tyler Mumma: Frontside Rock.
Legendary Skate Photographer Grant Brittian shooting a Frontside Smith.
The entire event and weekend was only possible because of Justin Reynolds from Riviera Skateboards. Thanks Justin for making it happen.
Sad Plant to Fakie.
At the end of the demo I gave my complete set-up to a cool little kid in the front row... That's what it's all about... Pass it on!
Little man is stoked on his one of a kind Street Axe with Dimbag graphic board.
Two guys that have been there the entire time: Chris Pastras and Ed Templeton... Thank you!!
Weekend MVP and last man standing: Brad Parker of Riviera Skateboards.
Ben Harper killing it!
Ben and I.
Talk about being there entire time... This is my good friend Bill Tomesch who I've known since '86 and who is standing in the background of my shot on the August '86 cover of Thrasher. This sign is a gift he had made for me by traditional sign maker / painter Ken Johnson.
